Patient Participation Group

A group of volunteer patients, carers and surgery staff who meet regularly to discuss and support the running of the surgery.

Patient Participation Groups look at the services offered, patient experience and how improvements can be made for the benefit of everyone.

Each Patient Participation Group is different, but they all have the aim of making sure that the surgery puts the patient, and improving health, at the heart of everything it does.

Our mission statement

  • To give practice staff and patients the opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest in their practice.
  • To provide the means for patients to make positive suggestions about the practice and their own healthcare.
  • To act as a representative group that can be called upon to influence the local provision of health and social care.

We run this group, with the aim of ensuring that our patients are involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided and to promote proactive engagement of patients. The meetings are open to any patient registered at the practice. The only qualification you need is “to care about your health and how that care is delivered”.

Please consider joining us – remember this is your surgery. At present we are running meetings through “zoom” due to the ongoing pandemic. We would warmly welcome new members a we want the group to be representative of our patient population in terms of age, sex and ethnicity.

Please speak to the practice manager Sheila, if you want to know more, or have any ideas please contact the practice.

Please see the news for announcements of the next meeting.
