Dear Patients,
You may have seen in the media articles and information about the General Practice Collective Action. Please see further information below
What This Means for You:
- GP practices are open and seeing patients. If you need an appointment with a GP or a member of your practice team, you should contact your GP surgery first
- If you have an appointment, you should attend unless the practice contacts you directly
- You can also contact NHS 111 via 111.nhs.uk or by phone – they will help you get the right treatment fast.
- You can also visit your local pharmacy for advice, you do not need an appointment to speak to someone. https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/pharmacies/how-pharmacies-can-help/
- You can use the NHS app to do the following without needing to contract your practice:
- Book and manage your appointments
- Access the online symptom checker to request an appointment or make an administrative request
- Order and manage repeat prescriptions
- Access NHS 111 online
- You should only call 999 in a life-threatening medical or mental health emergency if someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk
What to do:
- Emergency Care: For urgent medical issues, please use 111 online https://111.nhs.uk/ or visit your nearest urgent care centre or contact emergency services.
- Minor illness: Please check your local Pharmacy https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/pharmacies/how-pharmacies-can-help/
Our Telephone is still available for advice, please contact our reception team directly at 020 8946 7578. Alternatively, you can email us at swlicb.alexandrasurgery@nhs.net and we will respond as soon as we can.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Yours Sincerely,
Dr Naren Sornalingam and Dr Mayura Mahadevan.
